My brother in law and I both got Eggs for Father's day, and have been working on building two tables (between doing a bunch of cooking). Got one done this weekend. Used naked whiz plan as a guide, but used 4x4 for legs and 2x4 for frame--all screwed with decking screws and gorilla glue. Then, used 1x4 pine for trim around top and bottom and for top and bottom--screwed with stainless steel screws and glued. Did solid top as suggested here by some. We also cut out bottom slats so concrete block sits on 2x4 frame with air circulation underneath it. We also bumped the top cutting board (which is a pastry board) up with 2 x 4's so it is well above table wood top--that way when we put hot grid or rig on it, it can hang off without damaging/scorching wood top. Used red oak stain with marine grade semi gloss varnish. Hope photos work, first try with photos
