Got my stoker today! Question...

which I wish I had thought of before I ordered and received it...
Has anyone rainproofed their Stoker and/or blower? I did a quick search and it looks like someone put their stoker in a plastic container. Looks promising in a pinch...
Living in Scotland, it rains here a LOT... so I want to make sure to protect it
Thanks in advance...

Sorry I don't have a link but there are some good posts on the plastic storage boxes. Some cut holes and exit, some put on PCV 90° elbows and seal with silicone.
One person took an aluminum can cut one end off and made a rounded cover for the blower.
I use a 1 gal zip lock bag and fold the end under the stoker and connections. There are IC Chips in each plug so make sure those are protected too.

Here is one I saw from a different forum.

Rezen...Pretty fortunate here in FL, in NEVER rains...  Excuse the sarcasm. Seriously, we just use a zip lock baggie on the unit if rain is threatening. Been doing that for about 6 years with no issues.

I'm with Little Chef. I just use a Zip Lock baggie if it seems rain is approaching. I also use a couple quick lock clamps to secure to my mates. Works like a charm and just a few pennies spent.

Thanks for the info all!

I take a simple approach with my Stoker. I have a good sized plastic container. I place my Stoker under my table on the shelf. Clover is with the container and then lean a small piece of metal on the fan. So far so good. Table does the heavy lifting so I don't need to be exact with the other items. Also, if you have a new Stoker, I read where they are a bit more sealed to prevent moisture issues. Mine is 2 years old. I wish they offered a upgrade program to make it a bit cheaper for existing customers. I've seen RU Eggsperienced post some shots. Here is a link to his site with pictures of his setup:

The box built in the link is popular, cheap, and effective. I keep all my Stoker gear and internet bridge in it. The only other thing to add is some protection for the fan. I use a yoghurt container, while some others have used a bear/pop can. It's easy to just cut a notch in a plastic or aluminum container for the fan housing and slip it over the fan, and this keeps it dry in wet and windy conditions.

Does anyone have pictures of the pop can protection for the blower? I'm not picturing it very well.
