Posted this yesterday, but as any Newbie would, to the wrong forum - so here it is hopefully in the right forum...
Got the Egg on Father's day and have experimented with lot of recipes. Had my first long cook today with a low and slow Boston Butt (Elder Ward style) ... turned out excellent - after 9.5 hours the lump only look to have burned about 30% of what I loaded, efficient cook as well !!

Welome! I got my egg for fathers day last year and it is the best gift I have received. My wife also thinks it's the best thing she ever got me .
Butt looks great and I'm sure it tasted as good as it looks.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -

I got my large Father's Day 3 years ago. I was amazed how efficient they are. Put a Butt on and go to bed, no worries....
Nice looking pork you got there!Large BGE, Santa Maria Pit, Hasty-Bake Gourmet, MAK One Star Pellet Pooper, 26" Weber, 22" Weber Performer. Most have custom handles made by me.

Welcome to the forum and great job on your butt cook. Tim
Where in Tennessee are you located? I live in Macon County in a small town called Lafayette 60 miles North East of Nashville. -
I also received a large BGE for Father's Day and my entire family thinks it is the best gift ever!! To date I have done a Butt, baby backs, pizzas, burgers, planked fish, fish tacos,ABT's,............ I even cooked ratatouille one night! Half of the fun is figuring out how to use my BGE instead of the stove or oven. I have relatives from Ireland coming for a visit and I can't wait to "show off" with the BGE! My daughters have already started a list of "must dos" on the egg..it is going to be a BLAST!!
