Hello,
I know this is not a grilling question, but it is supposed to be 90 here on Saturday and I was wondering if anyone had a good sangria recipe or recipe for some other interesting cold cocktail that can be made for a group of people.

Sangria is simple but it depends on if you like white or red wine. Just use the wine of your preference and add fruit. Citrus and strawberries are normally always in it but you can add whatever you like. Another drink you may want to consider is a Mai Tai. Very good for warmer days and easy to make. Requires a lot of liquor though.

2 Bottles Boones Farm Sangria
1 can frozen Welch's Grape juice
2 bags frozen fruit chunks
Mix together in a punch bowl or large pitcher. -

caipirinha, been making these this summer. the brazillian leblon rum is very light tasting, not too rummy tasting at all. these will sneak up on you though :laugh:

Here's my dear wife's favorite sangria recipe:
Sangria
2 (750 milliliters) bottles red wine (grenache or beaujolais work well)
1 cup brandy
1/2 cup orange-flavored liqueur (like Patron Citronge or Triple Sec)
3 cups orange juice (fresh-squeezed is best if you have the time and muscles)
1/3 cup sugar
1 orange, cut into wedges
1 lemon, cut into wedges
1 lime, cut into wedges
1 apple, cut into wedges
1 inch of fresh ginger root, peeled and sliced into coins (give them a squeeze in your juicer for extra flavor)
Sparkling water
Additional fresh fruit for garnish
Combine the wine, brandy, orange-flavored liqueur, orange juice and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add the fruit and ginger. Cover and stick in the fridge for 6 to 12 hours to let all the flavors develop and get to know each other.
Before serving, strain into a pitcher and add a couple of splashes of sparkling water. Serve over ice with a little fresh fruit. We especially liked bing cherries!Food & Fire - The carnivorous ramblings of a gluten-free grill geek. -
Our home brew for Tapas night.
Sangria
Bottle of wine (Merlot, Cabernet, Tempranillo)
Two 12oz bottles of soda water (or more to taste)
Ice (couple of big handfuls’)
½ cup Brandy
Two shots of Lemoncelo
Two shots Grand Marnier
1 Shot of cinnamon schnapps ( Goldshlager)
¼ cup sugar
A couple of grinds of Nutmeg
One lemon sliced
One lime
One orange sliced
Mix fruit with sugar and liquor let is steep for an hour or so, (unless you can’t wait then just do it).
Add wine, soda water and ice, top with a couple of grinds of nutmeg.
You can omit the sugar and soda water, just replace it with 7-UP.
Mojitos are also good this time of year, lots of fresh mint available. -

Apple Pie Moonshine
Ingredients:
1 gallon apple cider
1 gallon apple juice
3 cups sugar
6 cinnamon sticks (I sprinkled with additional
cinnamon for good measure)
1 750 ml bottle Moonshine or EverClear grain alcohol
Preparation:
1 Bring apple cider, apple juice, sugar and cinnamon sticks to a boil.
2 Cool completely and add EverClear. We used 151 proof, because that is all that is legal for purchase in Florida. Can also
be found in 190 proof in some states.
3 We made this at home and served it chilled. We had many repeat customers who knew it was in our coolers. Be careful
though, it is more potent than it tastes!!!

I served this chilled......but I imagine it would be great heated. -
This basically the same base recipe we use. Sometimes we use Captain Morgans instead of brandy and usually some pineapple juice. Also use splenda instead of sugar. It's always a hit.
Large, medium, small and a mini. Egg'n, golfing, beer drinking, camping and following football and baseball.

3 Part Red Wine
1 Part Vodka
1 Part Orange Juice
Garnish with Fruit, sugar to taste.
It's actually good and it's fun to say Mangria instead of Sangria. -
This recipe is the closest to the Sangria we had in Spain. Except for the ginger root. No ginger root! The Spanish used cheap red table wine and an orange soda (KAS brand). Served in pitchers, this is the best heat buster drink going.
