First shot at ABT's

First try at ABT's today...I used sausage in the cream cheese and some with "little Smokey’s" and some without, had all but 8 or so wrapped in bacon when I realize I forgot to sprinkle rub inside or put my shredded cheese there as well. Good excuse to try again! They were good as is, thanks for all the discussions on this board for the last few years, I learn something from almost every post on each subject!!

As a relatively new egger, ABT's are completely new to me...I now can't imagine my life without them!

they are a fun way to play....
you can substitute almost anything and they turn out great...must be the baconRockwall Texas, just east of Dallas where the humidity and heat meet! Life is too short to get caught in the fast lane behind somebody slow!

Wow, bacon looks AWESOME on those, nice and crisp.
Have you tried them with shrimp? -
They look great, Greg. I personally sprinkle the rub on the outside of the ABTs. Guess you'll have to try and make them again.

Well, as Emeril would say, "Pork fat Rules!" Looks good and got my mouth to watering, maybe since I haven't eaten lunch yet. :unsure:Lagrange, GA LBGE

Rub adheres great to the bacon around the ABTs. I have a whole pantry shelf of rubs, but for ABTs my go to is simply McCormicks Montreal steak rub used generously. It just complements the flavor profile of ABTs IMO. I wouldn't dream of using it on anything else...like a steak!
