Got my large Egg the other day, wondering if it was money well spent. Got rid of the smoker, relegated the old grill to the shed for duties that involve more cooking than will fit on the egg.
First meal: breakfast. Bacon, eggs, and hash browns in a cast iron skillet. I was a little baffled because the handle of the skillet was down inside, below gasket level, but I adapted. Came out great!
Second meal: 6lb prime rib, whole taters. Kind of nervous, no worries. After the first hour, I plugged my remote thermometer in, enjoyed the a/c till it was time to put the taters on. I cannot describe how well it turned out, but a couple of visitors came over that didnt come to eat, and the comments were awesome, not to mention the food!
It's so hot here now, I think tomorrows supper will involve catfish or tilapia. Lighter meal than the cornish hens I had planned on, but will fit the bill better.

Welcome to the Forum! I have had my Egg for a little more than a year and I still love it. Like you I have a large and it is a cooking machine.

Sounds like you answered your own question. Well worth the money. The old grill works well to store eggcessories.

So when are you getting your second BGE? It took me two weeks to order my Mini, and only one year to add the large. I live alone but a family of four. Three eggs and me.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your cooking.
You need to make some egg'd bacon when you get a minute. This batch was made from pork butt then cooked (re-heated) for this cook.
Fish is mighty good on the egg...

Not only well worth the money but you will soon find yourself working out a way to add an additional Egg to your arsenal. Cooking outside has now been changed forever for you and anyone fortunate enough to eat the tasty treats that the Egg produces! Congrats and welcome.

I've had my Egg since early may and it took having a baby to keep me off if it for more than 2 days... It's a sickness...
