small head of red cabbage, an apple and an onion. slice it all up and into a dutch oven
1/3 stick butter, 1/3 c balsamic and 3 T sugar, 1/4 tsp ground clove, 1/4 tsp ground allspice, 1 small bay leaf
mix all but the butter and pour over the cabbage and plunk butter on top. cover with lid and cook at about 350 indirect till tender. about an hour. mix a tbl of corn starch into 1/4 c OJ and pour over the top and stir well. or you can just use water. but we like the flavor of the little oj in there.
get almost a transparent look to it with a glossy glaze. tangy slightly sweet and spicy. but not hot spicy. wonderful with pork
my little spice bowl had whole stuff in it but ti went in my crusher after the pic

Do you serve this hot, cold, or both? Very nice looking recipe.I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.
