It was a great weekend for this cook, and nice to finally have a little down time
A few pics
I got a nice bag of Maple leaf for this cook
The Egg, cleaned and loaded
Used fishlessman's temp control method, works great!!
Shoulder on
After 18hrs, first peek
A couple of more hours to bring it up to 195
Pulled and ready for some sammies
This turned out great, really like this cook.
Taking this into work, feel bad, a couple of days and I start a little vacation. :woohoo:
Poor guys won't eating to good for a while
Thanks for looking

That's a full load of lump. I thought you were only supposed to fill it up to where the fire ring starts. Am I wrong? Do others fill it up that much for a long cook?
Also, approximately how much wood chips did you use and is it spread all through the lump? -
woow...
nice little piece of meat..
enjoy the tortas now...
yum yum
congrats!!! -
That looks Great!!

jimi,
Shane cooked a whole shoulder. A similar cook for me went 32 hours. I always go at least that much for a long cook. What is leftover is just as good.

This is my first bag of Maple Leaf that wasn't all small chips and dust.
Bought it from a new supplier that doesn't kick the bags across the parking lot before putting them on the shelf
The guys at work are great for feedback, we are always feeding each other
