Tri tip and corn

Tom in California
edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
Did some tri tip and corn on the cob. Marinated overnight with a garlic paste (got the recipe from Food Network, click here to see it). It was good but next time I'll try a dry rub to get a better sear.

Here are the tri tips after marinating.

Then I seared them direct over coals. Next time I want to get a better sear so I'm getting a cast iron grill to put on my spider closer to the fire.

Then I took them off and set up for indirect cooking.

The tri tip was on the middle rack and the corn was on top.

Temp at the grate was 350º.

Took them off at 135º

Let rest for 20 minutes then sliced.

Also made some beans

and pico de gallo

Made for a nice dinner.
