Newbie questions - cover and daisy wheel

I've been using my medium BGE for a few weeks now. Two questions that I'm surprised I couldn't find the answer to in the vast internet.
1) What is the maximum temperature I should be at before putting the vinyl cover on? I think I have a non-ventilated BGE cover, which according to this http://www.biggreenegg.com/tables.html, isn't the one out of "heavier material". Although the BGE doesn't transmit as much heat as my previous stainless steel BBQ, it does radiate it for much longer. I was surprised that nowhere did it say "wait X hours" or "wait until temp shows X" in the manual. Seems like a basic safety question.
2) Where should I store the daisy wheel when not in use? I've been keeping it in the bottom of the nest, where the beams cross. Although it looks like I may already have some rust appearing. I haven't tried to clean it hard to check, so it might just be some other stuff. In one video, he kept it in the egg, but that feels like it would be where all the moisture and foodstuff is. The guy who delivered it said "don't keep the daisy wheel on when you put the cover on", but didn't really say where to keep it.

1. I put my cover on at below 350 and it's fine.
2. When you take it off open the egg and put it on the grill to keep it nice and clean. -
1. When it won't melt.
2. Inside the Egg. -
With the old lighter weight cover I think 350 is too high. I would not put in on at any temp in excess of 200.

ditto :P
Rule of thumb for me is 200* and inside the egg eith the plate setter -
I guess this is to everyone who replied, but what is teh reason to put the daisy wheel in the egg? Or maybe the question could also be, why not under the egg where I am keeping it now?
I guess I can't get over the thought that I made salmon tonight, cleaned the grill when I was done, but it's not as clean as under the egg. -
Once your daisy wheel get gunked up putting it inside the Egg will clean it. Also cuts down on it rusting.

I let my egg cool completely before putting cover on. Not sure that is necessary but I don.t want it melted on permanently. Ceramics can pretty well handle it if I forget to put it on for a day or two. Some people never cover.
Daisy wheel I just put on the cooking grid inside the egg when not using -
Inside the egg is out of the weather so less rust.
