So I've been reading this forum for a few months now and haven't posted yet. I was going to just wait until the new forum came along but since that doesn't look like it will happen I figured I'd sign up.
I made some folks over and made some wings last weekend. I made some hot wings (on bottom) using Pluckers sauce and a little corn starch. The top shelf were marinaded in an impromptu Teriyaki sauce that was half stolen from America's Test Kitchen and some corn starch. Cooked direct at 400 for an hour and a half, sauced more, then finished for 10 minutes.
If only there was a way to make waffle fries on the egg....
Sauced!
they were awesome!!! The teriyaki wings were killer! A little salty, a little sweet, a whole lotta good!
Sorry for the bad photo quality, not a big picture taker so all I got is my iphone.

Can you send the pluckers sauce over here in Katy? Those look great and I miss pluckers in Dallas so bad!
-
Wings look great!
It looks like you're set up indirect? -
You passed the test: You own a Big Green Egg, you cooked something good on your Big Green Egg, you shared photos of what you cooked on your Big Green Egg and you're from Texas.
See you around.

Very nicely done, I like the use of the inverted spider to get a second level
Welcome Aboard! :cheer: -
Welcome
You say you cooked "direct" but it looks like some sort of foiled pan or platesetter underneath between the wings and fire?? Great looking wings!BGE'er since 1996 Large BGE 1996, Small BGE 1996, Mini BGE 1997 -
Those look great. Gotta grill some wings soon!
-
The beer came before during and after...
Even used a mug from Pluckers!
And apparently used WAY too much beer because yes they were INdirect not direct.
One WARNING the Pluckers Hot sauce is WAAAAAYYYYY hotter out of the bottle than in the restaurant -
Looking good Matt, I haven't tried wings yet.
-
Wings look great Matt. Wings are one of my favorite things on the egg. I love cooking them for people because usually "wings are wings", but the egg really adds something special to them.
In that pic you can tell they are hot by the way you are swillin' that beer .Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
the wings looks great. welcome to the forumcontext is important
-
Now you did it. Just got home from NOLA and was just going to check to see if forum was still here and I saw your awesome cook. Now I am hungry...Off to the market for groceries.

Aw Man, those look great, Matt. WElcome aboard.
On the Pluckers sauce, do they ship or can you buy it at the restaurant. I'm not far from the one in Dallas, so I might have to go and pick some up.Rowlett, Texas

Thanks Jason
I bought the bottle at the store, but you can also order it off their website
Here's the link
But BE WARNED the hot is HOOOTTTTTTTT...MUCH hotter than at the restaurant. I bought two bottles of it and I'm going to have to go buy a mild to cut the heat... -
Thanks, Matt. I've never seen the bottles at our store, but then again I've never looked. I'll pick some up. I generally just go medium. I tried the hot once and it was way too hot. I don't even want to know what Fire in the Hole tastes like.
