This is my first post & I would like to start off by saying that I really enjoy reading on this forum. I don't own an egg yet but have plans to purchase a demo large egg at a local eggfest in Aug. My sister-in-laws husband owns a large egg & has cooked for us several times. That's what hooked me.
I do have a few questions. I see alot of talk about this forum might be closing down, and that would be a shame, but I haven't found the reason why. Also looking for suggestions as to what accessories & thermometers (including wireless)to buy. I'll be purchasing a plate setter & a pizza stone. Mostly I'll be cooking steaks, burgers, chicken, pizza & butt roast. Hopefully some ABT's also(just found out yesterday what that stood for from another newbie post yesterday).
Again, just wanted to say how much I enjoy reading the posts & the recipes.
Thank You,
Thomas in Lancaster,Ky

Welcome no-eggspert,The egg and the fourm are for ever so not to worry. Second you will be cooking a great deal more than the stuff you mentioned and will enjoy it.
third does your brother take any offence to being referred to as your sister-in-law's husband ?? -
My wife's sister has a husband but he is no brother to me!Marc

Welcome to he family,
You realize as you gain experience you might have to change your handle
I purchase my egg just like you, from a fest... and yes I had to wait and torture myself for few months.
Your list of accessoiries is similar to what I have. I also got myself a Cast Iron grill for the steaks. I love the look of the grill marks... still trying to convice my wife that the steak taste better with the marks :pinch:
Good Luck and Welcome again!Marc -
am looking forward to being able to change my handle.

A Thermapen instant read thermometer seems to be popular.
