  • thanks monica....yeah, i couldn't come home and sit down to relax without duffy first climing up on my lap and getting stroked for about 15 minutes. ..every single night for the past 6 1/2 years!!.and if i didn't stroke her constantly, she would grab my arm in her mouth and make me stroke her!!! . . .and if it was dinner time and i hadn't fed her yet, she would stand at the entrance to the kitchen, turn and look at me and "talk" to me until i got my lazy ass up and came out there and fed her. ...yep, needy in deed. ...god, i'm gonna miss this one. ...

What a beautiful animal, Max. Very sorry to hear. I've been through it a few times myself, but of course, it never gets easier.

Max, my heart goes out to you, sincerely. A few weeks ago our family's 13-year-old golden retriever went in a similar fashion, and I still do some sobbing now and then.

Putting aside whether you believe in heaven or not, and I already know what you believe, a short children's book called Up in Heaven by Emma Chichester Clark was recommended to us. IT IS WONDERFUL!!! It applies to all who have lost their beloved doggies. Got it at the library. It's a gem.

Sure sorry to hear the news, Duffy was a beautiful dog and I would have to think a big part of the family.

I had to have our German Shepherd put down several years ago and it still bothers me to this day.

As a person with an 8 year old dog that has a "9 to 11 year lifespan" you have my condolences. I don't want to imagine it but I'm sure you made the right choice.
