Dog pictures, news, stories are never off topic. I'm so sorry. Scooby the Wonder Dog has brought us a lot of joy and some share of pain over the years and of course we treasure him like any other member of the family. I know how awful it is to lose a family member. My thoughts are with you....

Mike, I'm so very sorry. It was a year ago this week that I said goodbye to my chocolate lab, Remington. Hardest day ever, I still miss him. Thinking of you...

Do it twice. It won't come back, and they deserve it times 10! God, if people were more like dogs.....But, I'm sure there is a reason that "intelligent" creatures rule this earth. I'd vote for a re-count.

    Doug:

I thought of you early on, as I thought that you had been here in the past. These are tough, but good, times. No regrets, just fond thoughts and memories. However, can't seem to get over not tripping over her in the middle of the night when I had to get up to....uh, get a drink. ;)

    Appreciate it, Man.

Baby: I'm right there with you. They are so much better equipped for life than we are. I'm confused.

    Thanks for the support.

Oooooh no! I'm so sorry. They are our best friends. We tell them stuff we would never tell anyone else and they carry our secrets always ready with a hug.

  • Mike and family,
Pepper certainly had a great life with you :)
She won't forget you all, either.
She will always be remembered with great fondness.
So glad she had the time with you B)

Tough pet life decisions are never easy. A vet once told me that people should never prolong a pets life or suffering so you can avoid your own suffering associated with their loss. You made a hard but correct decision. God Bless.

My wife has been monatering the forum for me while I am working all this OT but when she told me about this post I had to take a moment to reply. You know I can truly feel for you during this time. Been there before and will again. Some people don't understood how we can get so attached to an "animal". I pitty them. To never understood the love and affection in another creatures eyes. Never know the feeling that no mater how bad the day someone was waiting at home for them that truly was over joyed to see them. Never know a loyal friend. The only thing I don't pitty them is what you feel right now. Yea she lived a long life. She lived a good life but mostly she lived that life with the one she loved and was loved back. God bless Sir, Deane

So sorry to hear the news Mike, so many of us have been there and done that. You certainly know our hearts are with you. I know I pray that all my pets are in heaven waiting for me, I like to think we will all be reunited and can bask in that unconditional love again. Rejoice in the memories my friend.

I know my wife and I will some day have to deal with Scooby no longer dragging my wife through the rose bushes when he chases after a rabbit. Scooby rates a 100 on the personality scale, about 3 on the intelligence scale.
