Do people look at you crazy when they ask if you grilled anything this weekend and you say "not really, just some hamburgers and hot dogs."

I don't know at what point I stopped considering cooking hamburgers and hotdogs as grilling, but most people do count that as grilling.

yeah. i have learned to edit my reply. they don't always really want to know what you cooked this weekend when they ask "what did you cook this weekend?" kinda like "how are you?'. they don't really want the full answer.

Since I got my Egg, I start planning what I'm gonna do on the Egg early in the week and firm it up by Wednesday...leaving a coupl'a days to look around for the perfect brisket, butt, whatever. Of course, that involves some attention on who's gonna be in attendance for the feast.......amazing how the Egg is driving my weekends!!

You ain't seen nuthin' yet! Wait til one of them catches you taking pics!!

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

My wife still chuckles at me when I start taking pictures. She puts up with me though, she knows its worth the wait.

Mine, too. Still can't understand the whole "postin' pics of your dinner" thing. And, perhaps the funniest thing I've read on the site is the newbee who coined the term "food porn." LOL.

If they catch you taking pics they might also wonder about the bulging sides of the shed where you store your lump not to mention the ten extra bags under the bed in the spare bedroom.

  • Funny you should say that. Similar to Stike's reply - I have not cooked burgers and dogs for a long time, I tell people what I really cook.... but most people don't wanna hear.

Maybe we just need a better bunch of FOODIE friends. It's like - I make a Matambre, or just the perfect rack of ribs - or something, and people just scarf it up and don't make comments.

Or, even worse, when I try to educate some of these people, and teach them the Ways of The BGE they say something like, "Why don't you just cook it for me and bring it over?"

    SHEESH.

This is what drives me to post Pictures of Things to Eat on this forum, you know?
