OT...Prayer basket

Squash bugs ate up my first planting of Zucs and yellow squash. The storms that blew through Wednesday night blew over one of my tomatoe plants that were on the back porch.I got 400 planted in the garden(go figure) I harvested this one yellow squash and these green tomatoes fell off the overturned bush.I was a little peturbed.I put them in the basket and everytime I saw them I was reminded how blessed we are.We could have been in Japan,Tuscaloosa,Joplin, inside the River levees.I said a prayer for all those folks everytime I looked at the basket.Ya'll have a BLESSED Memorial Day!

Hoss: What an AWESOME idea! I love it! My squash all met the same fate as yours I'm afraid...didn't get a single squash! As soon as a blossom set, the cutworms took care of it. I will plant earlier next year, as our growing season is practically coming to a close now. Hope you have as rich a harvest as you did last year my friend!

Thanks LC.We are blessed with a pretty long season.I got the second planting comming on now and will do a third in about 3 weeks. If we have a late frost it is possible to pick fresh squash til Thanksgiving. That don't usually happen but we'll have en til mid October anyway.
