i can't go into any details of the contest at this time, but it's a throwdown of sorts. here is what i've got for the main course.... the two required ingredients are medjool dates and pork. i'll have two sides as well as an appetizer....

there are five others competing and the prize is a big box of craft beers from the west coast and various bbq schwag...

i'll post a lot more pictures this evening or tomorrow when the whole meal is cooked.
