Opened the small with a bit too much enthusiasm and the brand new daisy wheel flew off
Landed on the concrete with a broken "ear" :pinch: (where the handle wire fits)
Can this be repaired with JB Weld?
it should, just try to clean it as best you can. the break will be clean, but perhaps wire brush anywhere the jbweld is going to be applied. it's promoted for use on metal, so there shouldn't be an issue.
I've used JB weld to repair a broken intake manifold on my Murader GT dune buggy (1600 VW engine). I've also used JB weld to repair a water jacket on the block of an 87 Porsche 944 Turbo. We nicked the jacket chamber when going to larger studs. I've also used JB weld to help fix a bumper upright on a 69 MGC GT.
Kari, How in the world could you do that... O wait I know.

FYI, JB WELD was developed to repair medal parts that got broken, it will work great on your top. A reminder there is 2 types of JB one is the quick set the other takes longer, get the longer setting stuff. Why you say! Cause the longer setting time grade is highter temperture by about 300 degrees.
I think you'll be fine. My brother and I have restored a few old Land Rovers in years past and have had JB help out numerous times when the part couldn't be found, even fixed several radiators that lasted years. Good luck. Randy

0 · Off Topic Disagree Agree LikeJB Weld should work fine. Also, there is a product called Liquid Steel which would probably work also.
The temperatures out the dome won't be high enough to surpass the JB Weld specifications.
Use some acetone (fingernail remover) to clean the surfaces.

Wish I would have thought of that $650 ago.
