Help - Thermometers

I am looking for a thermometer and need some guidance on whcih ones are the best. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

If you are talking about an instant read hand held meat thermometer then the Thermopen is by far the best, not cheap, but the best.
For a remote meat and pit thermometer the the Maverick 732 is an excellent unit. It is a new, upgrade from the old 73, also a good unit.

I have a thermopen it is very fast and nice. I have stoker control system also. You set the temp you want and put a probe in your meat and it will control the fire and tell you when your food is done.

I was checking out the Thermapen but $90 is pretty steep, since I just dropped a small fortune on my Egg. I did find this:

It's also made by Thermoworks and only $25.

I used a $15 one from WalMart for a long time. The difference is the speed. The Taylor I got at Walmart takes :30 or more to give a true reading. The Thermapen takes a second or two. I guess what I am saying is while saving up for a Thermapen get a cheap one it will do the job. Just know it takes it a bit to give a true reading!

I just ordered a Maverick ET73 off of Amazon for $33. Hopefully it will arrive by Saturday.
