What can I put in here?
I'm thinking about what to cook on my egg tonight. I got some ideas when I seen the folowing sent to me by email. I saved all the pic's to Photobucket and posted it in here. I have never been to this place and I don't know anything else about the pic's...Tim
These pictures were taken by one of the road crew members at Cloudbreak, Arizona last week. It took a total of 5 hours for the Desert King Snake to finish off the Goanna (Sand Monitor).
As you can see, they put some stakes with flag tape on them plus a hazard/danger triangle up to help keeping someone from running over them .Looking at the man then comparing him to both the Desert King and the Goanna the snake looks to be at least 8' and the lizard 5'.What do you think?
NOW………THAT'S A MEAL

Goodness gracious - I'm somewhat disgusted, somewhat intrigued - and defnitely sharing this with one of the ladies in my office. She will love this pictorial. As for what to put in "there"??? If I had the time this evening, I would love to have some shrimp and fresh corn, perhaps a green salad?? Alas, I'm going to a T-ball game with the cutest boy in my world.
-
Hey Elizabeth, It is in your face shocking. Perhaps I should put down an ex-claimer. I also found it very interesting.
Have a great day out with the cutest boy in the world. -
I find this pictorial very interesting.
-
i had a savannah monitor back in school, was a real mean one, ate an iguana twice its size, i would of put my money on the monitor :laugh:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Now back to the subject matter... I don't know why I was think'n Turkduken!
-
Hey Fish, That is amazing. If I seen the snake and lizard I would probably have said "no that snake can not eat or swallow that lizard".
Would it be neat to get a cook like a tur dunk en but get the these animals to swallow each other? :woohoo: -
Yeah nap time for a month!
-
Me too! Look at my reply to Fish.
-
ewwww....snakes are icky
-
Poor lizard.
-
No more napping by the survey crew, that's for sure. Here in Ohio we have few posionous snakes and I can't recall ever seeing any big lizards. Thank goodness.
-
In Mexico, they say, an average iguana makes something like 7 1/2 tacos. I am thinking fajitas?? (Beef steak not iguana)
-
Yeah if I was interested in eating lizards that would be a meal by itself cept I would have to hold it over a fire.
-
Keep you eyes peeled and carry a flash light in case you get swallowed. That way you can find your way out. :woohoo:
-
ya..ya...needs more gaaalic....seems like I heard that somewhere before....downunder....huh dundee....
-
We'll have to see if RichardFl has a rub recipe for this cook. My guess is it will have a lot of garlic in it.

Tim: That reminds me of stories that hit our local news on occaision. We have a problem with Pythons in the Everglades down here. The pythons do not belong here (released by man), so they are eating our native wildlife. Here is one from a few years back. 13 foot python, 6 foot alligator...both died in this attempt.
http://criticalmiami.com/index.php?id=236
As an FYI, the State is actually training and paying people to hunt and kill the pythons in the Everglades because they are doing so much damage to the ecosystem. :( -
I never have liked snakes and we have plenty of them here in central Alabama. What about some kabobs of some sort. We usually have enough bits and pieces to throw together a skewer or two.Good luck,Randy
-
I never seen anything like that before. Thanks for the link.
-
If the lizard swallowed something before being swallowed himself that would be good.
-
I am thinking a knife - flashlight may not be helpful at that point
-
I'm like you the lizard was having a bad day for sure.
-
Not "in your face" shock - just "ughhh - yuck" kind of like, oh - I don't know. The girl at work can't wait to get home and show it to her kids!

The only good snake is a dead snake. I'm really not afraid of anything I can see....last summer a neighbor had a snake in his back yard and attempted to kill it with a shovel, but he just didn't hit it solidly. He had recently had his knee replaced - and this man is truly afraid of snakes. I noticed him messing around with the shoevel and went over to check it out - took the shovel - killed the snake, as in chopped to bits! Did I mention I hate snakes? :ermm: :woohoo:
-
That it totally cool Tim. :woohoo: I have a Raccoon that I am trying to catch.Dave San Jose, CA The Duke of Loney
-
That's cool. Do you want me to forward the email to you so you can send it to her? :ermm:
-
Hey I wonder if a person could train a snake to go out and kill and eat the varmints in your yard. Maybe put a collar on him and stake em out in the yard.
-
that would be great....
