EGG SWEATS

There is an occasional question on here, usually voiced with a touch of panic, about eggs that are sweating and/or oozing vile liquids.
We have had some torrential rains here in the past couple of weeks and my Eggs are out in it.
Here are a couple of pics of my large as it was coming up to temp for last nights pizza. :ohmy:

This is the result. I have seen it much worse.
I thought some of the new people might take note of this and remember when it happens to them that it is no big deal

Frank, that has never happened to me. I keep my eggs covered, do you think that's the reason?Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

That's nothing Frank.Here's a pic of my small egg sweating like crazy :ohmy: I didn't use that egg for a while when I was building my porch,so it soaked up a bunch of moisture and dust

I don't know Faith, the glaze is porus, so it will absorb moisture. You use your eggs a lot, but if you went away on a trip during the hot, muggy, rainy season you might experience it the first time you fired them up. But like I said, it is no big deal

My used egg did that the first time I fired it up and I thought I had been ripped off.

My mini and large sit outside uncovered all the time and last weekend my mini did the same thing.

After the fire is out I usually open the bottom vent to let air in. This helps control the mold in the egg when not used much. Works well.

Sure do. Most of us had that first fright...IS THIS NORMAL?!?!
I was one. I don't see an upload date for this on photobucket, so I'd have to do a forum search, or go back to the original picture on my home computer to check the date, but I'm guessing this photo is from a month or two into my life as an egg owner.
