3.5 lb Bug

Filly called me this afternoon and said she wouldn't be home for dinner, so I stopped at the Chinese market and bought a 3.5 lb lobster. About once every 5 years or so I give lobster a try and come to the same conclusion, I like crab better. I steamed this guy and it was cooked perfectly, but again I like crab better. Did I mention they had a full tank of live dungenous crabs right next to the lobsters? Going to have to go back and get a couple. -RP

So jealous of really fresh seafood :( :PI raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

And I live in the desert.-RP

I must agree.Lobster is good but crab is better. BTW,that's a NICE one.

I forgot to mention, the part I liked the best was the legs. I used a rolling pin to squeeze the meat out of them and they were good, they tasted like crab. -RP

I favor crab also. Although, I won't turn down a lobsah.Molly

One more vote for Crab... Dungeness crab, that is.
On occasion we've had lobster and I think G might just like it more. Either way it's all pretty yummy and that one looks like a good accompaniment for Warm garlic butter.. -

i like stone crab but it needs to be caught same day. pretty much the same with lobster, i dont really like tank lobsters unless they were caught that morning. i guess you are comparing tanked lobster to tanked crab, they lose the sweetness that way i usually stick with 2 to 2.5 pounders, as they get bigger i have a harder time cooking them right, legs are done but the bodies need more time etc. the one thing about crabs i dont get is crab cakes, i try them every opportunity i get and have never had one i enjoyed except for the little over spiced thai ones. i would rather have them made with clamsfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I like'em both... I would be glad to start there.Large and Small BGE * www.quelfood.com

I've had the tanked dungeness crabs and they were much better than the cooked frozen ones at the store. I don't care for crab cakes either, rather just eat the crab. -RP

 I hate my crabs, but the doctor swore to me the new meds would take care of them. :silly:
