Monday night, I came home with a wonderful slab of bbq ribs and rolled my egg out into the patio area to start and clipped a crack in the driveway and walla no more green egg. Bottom half cracked as well as the fire box and fire ring. Replacement parts totalled 600 so I purchased a new one. Which leaves me with a top, iron grid, daisy wheel and thermometer for sale. I am hoping that someone has unfortunatley broke their top and is in need of a new one. My egg was 7 months old. In mpls and will make a good deal to anyone in need.
Thanks
Thanks

Sorry for your loss
Is your new Large BGE bigger or did you get an XL? -
The cracked one might still be good for low temp cooking, if the base is intact and the firebox and ring are in less than 3-4 pieces.

Well THAT sucks!! That's why mine has a permanent spot on the patio. I tried moving it once - almost dropped it so it just sits there now. If you plan to continue moving it around, you might consider a nest handler.
You might also consider keeping the parts in case it happens again!I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Or squat down and pull it by the nest, rather than pushing it from the top.

Sorry for your loss. I guess it can't be said too often, "PULL YOUR EGG DON'T PUSH IT"

That carpet probably saved you from a lot more damage FLPMBGE'er since 1996 Large BGE 1996, Small BGE 1996, Mini BGE 1997

The eggmate is what took the brunt of the fall. Bent it up pretty good

How much for the Daisy Wheel?

7 mo young. Ouch that hurts. Hopefully you will be able to sell the parts to offset your loss.Large, small and mini now Egging in Rowlett Tx

I agree, Mike. Picked up one last Friday at my local dealer and installed it. It really stabilizes the Egg in the nest and makes moving it around much easier and safer.

Ok, so I paid the price for my stupidity and went out and bought a new large egg with the thought that I would have extra parts, etc and be back in business.
Me being Me, I have put the entire egg back together with JB Weld and have read that the fire ring and fire box isn't that critical to be put back together as long as it sits in the egg fine and is functional.
My thought is that I could always use it as a wing cooker to 300 degrees or pork butt smoker. My question to the forum would be...do you think there is any risk cooking on the egg with all of the adhesive and glue from the JB weld, fumes, etc.???
Any incite would be appreciated.
