My large egg have a problem... The top keeps falling down. I have checked, the egg is horizontal and all bolts are in place.
Any ideas ? Or anybody who has the same problem?

Likely the bolts on th hinge near the springs have worked loose. Check and tighten them.
Hope this helps. -
Is this a new BGE which may have had the hinge and bands installed upside down? If it's a new problem for an older egg then there's a good chance your springs just need to be replaced.Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

did you check with a level. next thing to check is the bolts holding the spring on, sometimes they are not tight and tip, tighten those so they are straight. could be the band is upsidown, is the flat bracket on top where its supposed to be. ive also had a spring crack, you dont see that too often :ermm:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I ve checked with a level, and its perfectly fine :-) Also checked the bolts they are tight. Its a new BGE , can it be installed upside down? is there anywhere I can find good pictures?

iv e never installed one upsidedown to see if th lid drops, but ive heard it does. spring should attach to metal on top, spring attaches to the bolt below, someone should have a pic, i dontfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Of course you may have better luck getting those rings to fit better then I did.Dave

GREAT! BTW be careful and use those 2 white plastic pieces secured with strong wire before you start to loosen your bolts.Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Or a couple of zip ties work well if you no longer have those plastic pieces
-
I agree...I couldn't think of that term to save me! People just don't realize the power of those springs when just one side is loosened so that band can pop up and knock your teeth out! Seriously!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Just one zip tie at the handle works quite well.
Just loosen the band bolts (ya gotta do that anyway) and slip the tie around both bands. -
Nice use of leverage there. Much less force on the zip tie that much further than the hinge.
