Wow! I didn't know what to expect but I never dreamed the gathering would be so much fun and so fattening. Congratulations to Mickey and all his helpers and sponsors for a job well done. The location was beautiful and the food was outstanding. My wife and I couldn't believe the friendly atmosphere and the welcome we received from these eggheads. I thought everyone would cook on Saturday but they were cooking when we registered on Friday, then on Saturday, then at the party after the official event. I really felt guilty eating all their food. We met people from all over the state, the nation, and Mexico. A smile on every face and food on every plate. What a great event. Some great photos Johnny. If it's okay with you I might use some of them in "Salado Egghead Gathering - The Movie" when I get around to it. Or is it a "roundtoit?"

What you said was Eggactly what the intent was all along. Have fun, eat well and make lots of new friends.

Glad you enjoyed it. I know we did.

You are more than welcome to any or all of the photos. I tried to put all of them on as an album but couldn't get anything to work.

By the way, are you craftsman who mkes the custom handles? If so, I would like to buy one.

Great photographs - looks like everyone was having a very nice time. I'm constantly amazed at the kindness of fellow eggers....hope to meet you one day at an eggfest (have not made it to one yet, but hope to do so in the near future). :)

You're probably thinking of Lawn Ranger for handle-making. He generously donated a couple of them for the Gathering but he mentioned that he is discontinuing making them for now. Lots of irons in the fire and he needs a break.

A few hundred of us have enjoyed his custom made handles over the past few years. I wouldn't take anything for mine.

Hey neighbor! It was so nice to meet you both. I'm so glad you had a great time and I hope to see you in OKC like Kari said "with spatula in hand"!

  • Hey Tweety, make sure you and Sylvester stop by and say hi in OKC, I don't think we've met yet.

    Not long now.
