We have the sweet 16 set and the leaders are:

2. DCE
3. Frank from Houma
4. Grillin with Vince
5. SSN686

If anyone wants back in, there is a 2nd chance bracket. I sent an invite to the current group. Anyone new can find it at Yahoo fantasy sports. The group ID is 14798 and the password is eggheads.

Good Luck folks!

You still have 3 of the final 4 picks still in the hunt. There is some glimmer of hope for you to climb out of a 4 way tie for 14th :P

I posted this in the OT forum, but got no answers. What is up with the two games in the first round to determine an 11 and 12 seed? Why wouldn't you put the worst 8 teams in the first round to play for the four 16 seeds? Why would 20 teams or so get a first round bye ahead of a potential 11 or 12 seed? I've been unable to find any explanation of why they didn't play four games for the 16 seeds.

I saw your question and have no good answer. Just a way to generate more TV money would be my best guess.

Why not let Duke and Kansas play in the first round and get it over with,

  • Naked, the 11 and 12 seed play-ins (UAB, CLEM, USC, VCU are at-large bids. The other seeds in the 2nd round (I hate calling it this) of the tournament that are seeded lower than them won their conference tournament and received automatic bids but do not project as high due to schedule strength/wins etc.

I chose Pitt to win it all, brilliant! :(-RP
  • Ouch, never perform well in the Tourney. Looked good on paper though. Ohio State should take it I think. Who the hell knows though. That's why it's such a good tournament.

Don't think of it as being screwed. Think of it as giving someone else the opportunity to win the bracket this year
