Seeing the post on the Royal Oak plant, made me think of this
My wife and I have spent a lot of time in Thailand traveling to many places where most tourist never see.
This shows the kilns in a small village in northeast Thailand
Charcoal is the main source of cooking heat in many places

Absolutely beautiful photos!! Sounds like a really interesting trip. I am fortunate enough to go to Asia several times a year and the best trips are outside of the big cities for sure!!

Thank you for the compliments......
I love Thailand and since 1999, We have spent half of our time living in Bangkok and traveling the country.
This is a great country to visit...friendly people, safe and fantastic food (we only eat Thai food when we are there)
Anyone wanting to travel to Thailand and would like some suggestions, get in contact with me.
In addition to the Thailand pictures I have posted on smugmug, I have 1000's more and will be making some photo books and slideshows when I have time
Some of the pictures have been used in some publications -
John, I've seen some of your previous posts and have always enjoyed them. Your adventures and photographs are truly amazing to me. You are a true photographer, most of the rest of are just picture takers. Thanks again. Mike
