This is a big one a good friend of mine found today.
It was in a bag of Royal Oak.

Nice!! That contributed to the poundage of the bag eh. I always find things like that in RO. Not ever close to that big though. Usually just small pieces of rock or cement or what have you. I think you won!

He told me he felt a little cheated on the weight of the bag.

I guess i got a "chip off the ol' block" in my bag of R.O. yesterday. I also won a piece of insulation the size of a golf ball, some rainbow colored chunks .( ???)and a small handful of pure hardwood.(not anywhere near black) This was my first bag of Royal oak,six bucks at wal-mart. I may just fess up on the extra two dollars and keep using Mali Gourmet Lump, made in usa.
    More meat please !! :-)

I thought it was a normal process to be a charcoal sorter. I was buying R.O. at Menard's and some of my first cooks had the nastiest white smoke coming from them I was really disappointed with the Egg. I found single pieces of some unidentifiable smoldering c**p that where a long way from being lump.
I started pouring my bags into a shallow bin and poking through them. I had a grocery bag full of insulation, rocks, concrete, moon rocks, and pieces of metal.
Then I started using other brands. I will only buy R.O when I can get it cheap. I see lots of people seem to love it and maybe it’s from different plants. Other brands will have a few small rocks. I know making lump isn’t a refined process but if you don’t look at what comes out of the R.O. bag you stand a chance of spoiling a cook i.m.h.o.

And no I'm not a shill for a different charcoal.

About 2500 more bags and they're gonna want their kiln back!

Just brush a little Blues Hog on it, it'll taste fine. ;)

    Have a great weekend Jim,

That's a big one. You should sell it. I bet it's worth a bundle. You should take a picture of it and sent it to RO and thank them for it. You my get a reward for it and get to retire in Jupiter, Fl. :woohoo:

Your right about them wanting the parts back. Thanks for a good laugh.
