my ever-loving daughter, the spawn, just called me at work....i answer the phone "hi boo-boo, whats up?"...she responds, "hi daddy, i'm not dead" (the funny part was i thought she said, "i'm not GAY", and i said "so what made you figure that out today??", but she corrected me)....i was thinking her anniversary of "dying" was tomorrow, but she's right, it was tonight 2 years ago that i got that call...unbelievable how time flies...been a few bumps in the road the last two years, but as we talked today, she getting ready to schedule her last set of classes leading up to graduation next december (who--da--thunk--it!!!), she is going to be running the sound board for the big shakespeare festival over the next three weeks, and she is otherwise healthy and being a general pain in my ass!!!!

and as we like to say, she is our true "zombie princess"!!!. . .

and as most of you know, it was YOU here on this forum that was a HUGE part of her getting better, helping me get through a very dark moment in my life, and our family surviving a very scary time in our lives!!!! simple "thanks" were never, and still aren't enough here!!

It's great to hear Spawn is happy and doing well, it is amazing that it has been 2 years. Maybe when she graduates she can buy Dad a shiny new pair of hearing aids. :lol:

I have been hard of hearing all my life and have hearing slip ups fairly often, they can be pretty humorous at times, a little embarrassing at others. Welcome to my world.

Back then Max I was pretty new to the forum. Also, back then we met at eggtoberfest. It was totally my pleasure meeting you and Spawn and sitting behind you on the bus ride and chatting. i would probably go eat entrails with her if she was here....my wife still gets upset when we talk "zombie princess"....she just doesn't have the same sense of humor that sydney and i have!!....one thing i haven't heard from syd in a while though is the old line "but....i died!!" after being denied something LOL

That was a scary time Max and it hit us all in the gut as parents and friends... we take to many thing for granted and things can change so freaking fast. Gee.... does this mean she is hitting the "terrible twos"???

It was a close call. We are thankful for the spawn's recovery and now cheer her on to graduation.
So much to be thankful for...she beat the odds and won.

I remember that day too. Was just thinking today about it...but....it was also the same day that my daughters horses tried to kill himself. Jumped out of the stall over 5 foot fences.
Glad that both Syd and the horse are doing fine these days.
