I think you would need to pull them out with a monster truck. Maybe that is the next BGE sponsorship opportunity. The "egginator"

Honestly...I wouldn't want to have to pay for the lump to fill it.....then again it could almost be used as a spare room..LOL.

:woohoo: :woohoo: That was my first thought when I read it, " how would you lift the dome?"

imagine the loney that you could Q in there :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Looking at the new egg, there is potential to save some big money in the future if you get one. It looks big enough that a true egg head could go out in style when it is their time. Do a real high clean burn, collect the ashes, and scatter them in according with their wishes. The ultimate end for a true Egg Head.

Wonder how many bags of lump needed to fire it up.Large, small and mini now Egging in Rowlett Tx

am I the only person to keep waiting for the proverbial tongue to hit the cheek in this thread? I am sooooo skeptical of the pictures etc. Even the HUGE Daisy the size of that guys head would have to weigh - what 30 to 40 pounds? And then that table that it supposedly is sitting in appears to be made of 4 x 4 timbers at best (actually 3.5 x 3.5)and the cross members aren't even straining from the heavy weight! Let alone how are you going to get to the ash door? Even those dinky casters don't look like they could stand that much weight! I wish Woo doggies would chime in here and with his ceramic expertise and explain how that monster could be fired! To be blunt I'm going out on a limb and calling at least the pixs as a hoax. What's even a bigger surprise to me was how this was supposedly "rolled out". I mean a ceramic creation like this would have had to have gone through a year or two of testing and that never leaked out???Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

the pic rod posted doesn't necessarily have to be the new XL.
that lid is impossible to lift anf the thing is at an unworkable height. that's gotta be a prop for trade shows or something.
the PR piece that "number5" posted is probably real, but that doesn't mean the two are related.
and no, to answer you email, i have nothing to do with this, for the record.

On the Facebook photo, there are comments from people who were there at the unveiling that it's a Styrofoam prop, which means it would make for a really HUGE cooler!BJ (Powhatan, VA)

You'll have to be able to "clean and jerk" about 275lbs on lifting that lid with both hands...not to mention the outstanding backdraft possibilities.

I did the math on that 1,800 sq.in., came up with about a 48" diameter Egg and said, "Nawww, I did something wrong." Well, it looks like I didn't.
Holy cow. -
Not to mention your friend Mr. Hilter's funny moustache.
-
It might look like an Egg but I think it's a hottub.
Would it be XXXXXX-Rated for someone to actually cook on that thing?
And why 80# bags of lump? Us older Eggheads can't even lift the 20#'ers.
Me thinks someone is pushing our legs.

Thank you - I did NOT see that. Just the same I now wonder the wisdom of announcing a new size and then displaying an over sized fake! Guess the new PRESIDENT at BGE has grabbed the company by the nads (for some reason) and will take it where HE wants! BTW I still don't like HIS new logo either! ...good night!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Sure.. remember there probably won't be football next season for a while, unless some sort of magic happens today, and they get an extension.
My "football" tailgate season begins with the first Texas Tech game of the fall and ends at the bowl game. There are no strikes in college football, thankfully. -
WHOA! I thought the extra-large BGE was enormous. God bless America.
-
Can you imagine what a flashback on that thing would be like???

r = 1.9947114020072 feet or like you said 48" dia.

Good grief, how could you possibly lift the lid unassisted??
