My brother from Denver will be in Atlanta tomorrow night to meet with a potential client in the Buckhead area. He's looking for a good restaurant that is not part of a chain. And he bbq's a lot so he's not looking for that.
Any ideas?

Kim,
What type of food is it? -
-
If you want BBQ, the best "non BGE" is likely Fox Brothers.
-
Try Bones steakhouse located in Buckhead/Brookhaven. Yeah I know. BGE users don't need to go to a steakhouse to get a good steak, but I don't mind paying for a prime grade steak that I don't have to cook.

Hal's on Old Ivy is a local favorite ... used to take my boss and associates there during trade shows ... everyone loved it ... google Hal's Atlanta for their website and a look at the reviews

Hal's is really good. Antica Posta is a really good local Italian place in Buckhead as well.
-
Hal's is terrific, but good luck getting a table without a reservation. It's also a bit tough to find - it's tucked a bit out of the way off the beaten path.
Bone's is terribly overrated and overpriced and overcrowded.
Lobster Bar at Chop's is nice.
Bluepointe is terrific if they like sushi/seafood.
New York Prime is another good choice for a steak and seafood place. -
Go to Hal's or Seasons 52. Seasons 52 if they want something other than steak.
-
When I was visiting the mothership, my brother asked them what BBQ place they liked. My brother gave him some cred because he wasn't a fan of Fat Matt's. Both of them liked Holler and Swallow.

Put the same question on Chowhound.com and you'll get a LOT of responses. They'll list out the best places by category for you!

What kind of Food does he like, and does he want to stay in Buckhead?
I think this is currently the best in Atlanta at the moment.
