bill,
I'll be in town in June. A few days at the shore and then wanted to try and hook up with you and Zip and any others in the area. I can taste the Lager already :woohoo: -
Great sport!
Winners all
Just sorry Mainegg didn't throw Mushroom Baked Alaska together for the dessert catagory
! -
lager ? yuengling porter !!!!
-
i can see it now . mushroom baked alaska with oysters ,,
-
I won??!! I WON!!! YESSSSSSSSSS!!!
I love it when you can 1) not enter the "competition" and 2) cook the secret ingredient to a crisp (which is the only way 'shrooms are any good, btw) - and still win!
Umm, what exactly did I win? :huh:I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Next time i'm not going to enter and not use mushrooms and not turn in late/early and...
-
I am thrilled to have placed in so many categories!! But the best part was the fun I had. It involved a road trip, some serious thinking and new ingredients that I will be buying on a regular basis now. Also had some friends over to sample food and they didn't leave any leftovers, so I guess they thought everything was actually good!!! :woohoo: When the next battle comes around I will be there. Thanks again Bill
-
thanks very much for the kind words, bill. i hadn't intended to be so minimalist in my approach, the scotch just took away all initiative. as well as all the pain
i found the Laphroaig to have a hint of mushroom, mingled in with all the peat. and although i wasn't cooking, i felt very much in spirit with the idea :laugh:ed egli avea del cul fatto trombetta -Dante -
I applaud all the winners, and at least I helped decide some, sorta.Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!
3 Large, 1 Small, 1 well-used Mini -
I'm honored.
Thanks for the fun fungi food festival/battle.
Cardamom in the mushroom gravy, I like to shake things up a bit.
Thanks again lower case bill. -

i am sure you will win
-
you're welcome, i am glad you had fun as that was reason for this iron chef.
my sons will not eat steamed asparagus but they devour it when grilled on the egg, try a drizzle of olive oil a squeeze of lemon salt pepper and grill hot to get a little char, aspargus is done when it bends when lifted off the grill
thanks for participating -
you derserve an award for that beef wellington from a few years back as well
-
you surely did help decide. like i said ,, if you and rebecca say it is good ,,, it is good .
-
you're welcome ,, and it was fun ,, hope your weather improves soon,
-
Hey Bill

deluxe binding in Moroccan Levant, extra gilt? please send a prospectused egli avea del cul fatto trombetta -Dante
-
I am having it done with forest green pebbled morocco, raised bands, and gilt inner dentelles. they wanted us to use the blue pebbled, but as an egger only the green would do. no prospectus you either, get it or you do not. and I suppose you want it signed in the book not a sticker to just stick where ever you want to??
you have two boys.... you will need this.... take it from Bill and I.. also there is an insert that has cocktail recipes for the days that a good shaking just does not work...
(thank god for google ) -
Thanks for running that bill. Side story, we had a dinner party on Sunday night and I had left the squashed puff pastry on the counter. One couple had two teenage sons and they asked about it. I told them the story and they asked if they could try it. They had it finished in about thirty seconds.

thank you .. i do think i will be receiving the 'there is something seriously wrong with you award' when i post what i cooked for battle mushroom
-
it looked tasty.. and i guess you should "blame" stike and mainegg as they talked me into doing this
it was fun and hopefullly a nice break from a nasty winter for many of us ,, stay warm
bill -
i do hope it was fun for all .. it was for me
-
The green fades very quickly. The most fugitive of the vegetable dyes. In that case sign me up for a chemise and slip case.
Pebbled morocco will match the BGE better than crushed would. Nice idea.
What size is this thing? 8to? Folio would be a plus but I'd be ok with 4to. 8vo or 12mo too small I think
If you sign it, do it on the title page. Your name alone. If you write "to stike" it will affect the price on the secondary market , unless it's established as an association copy. Dedication copy would be too much to ask.
