Hi all
I have been cruising the forum for about a month and a couple weeks ago purchased a medium BGE. My father has the same down in FL and am ashamed to say it has been sitting in the basement for a couple weeks while i build a table but wanted to buy before the increase went through.
Anyways, love the posts and the pics people supply and am super excited to get this baby rolling and the first cook will be interesting as i am sure it will still be below freezing here in Wisconsin.
I have a picture of my 7 month old after my father in law put him in the bge. It will be interesting cooking as my wife is a vegetarian so I will have a lot of it for myself!

Welcome to the cult. Why wait, get that egg put together and get egging.

We started with an XL and my husband would load it up with so much meat there was never room for my veggies. The solution...I now have my own medium egg. So he loads his with meat, I load mine with veggies and we're a happy family! Anything you can cook in your kitchen, you can cook even better on the egg. Meat, veggies, toasted bread, cookies. I even warmed Krispie Kreme donuts at a gathering in November! There are no limits with the BGE, except maybe ice cream.

Welcome and enjoy.....the meat that is on the side of the veggies

Everybody is right about the veggies. Let's not forget about the fruit - pineapple, apples, peaches.....

Be sure and read the warnings on the instructions that came with the egg: I remember they said take baby out of egg before lighting

TOO CUTE! WELCOME!

As others have noted there are lots of non-meat dishes to cook on the egg. We seldom only cook meat on the egg. Almost always do some side item on the egg.

Great Pic. I love it.
