My wife says I can spend a 1,000 of our tax return on whatever I want. I was thinking maybe a kegerator and a tv for the garage/man cave but I'm just not sure. If anyone can think of any better suggestions I would appreciate it.

I don't know what you already have but, my vote is egg number 2.
-
LOL - set aside some of it to pay for the advice of a tax accountant to reduce receiving a large refund! That is not free money - it was YOUR money that the government used interest free for the year. Just sayin...Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.
-
I like having a little surprise every year
-
Your IRA, 529, or a 12 month CD. Or if you have any short term debt plunk it down on that.
Yea - I'm a killjoy. But I work in the finance arena so this is always where I recommend people put money - pay off debt and save for retirement. Sorry to rain on your parade. -
If you owe anyone (mortgage car, credit card) anything then that interest free loan you are giving the government for your annual little surprise is costing you so much more than you realize. The compounded amount of that debt you could save by applying an extra $100 per month toward it instead of letting the government use it for free is staggering.

well, if your wife is being that magnanamous, i'd spend it on hookers or something!! sounds like a free pass to me :woohoo: :woohoo:
-
I love my kegerator, got it a Sam's Club for about $400. -RP
-
Dam I have to pay in. No hookers for me.
-
I nee to have more taxes taken out too. I am not going to send the money to our favorite hooker.
-
kiljoy
haven't you heard, we can spend freely now again. the recession is over.ed egli avea del cul fatto trombetta -Dante -
i have a return check from a few years back for 1 dollar i did not cashed in, almost seems worth calling them to have it reissued :woohoo: the one dolllar check they had to write seemed to be worth more to me than the one dollar bill in my pocket :laugh:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
-
AWWWW come on Grandpas Grub us hookers have to eat too....
-
Got to say I am with Rod on this all the way. ANY debt at all is to much when you have a windfall like that. but wifey should have to kick in hers too. the feeling of have even one small bill gone will last longer than any toy you blow it on ;)course you can try to drink your troubles away with the kegerator we paid off and canceled all credit cards a year ago and it still gives me a warm fuzzy feeling
-
Not enough for a 100-400 lens or a 7D so I'd get the Canon 10-22mm lens and a 50mm 1.4.
-
We paid off all our debt last year now we just have the mortgage and the normal bills. I love saving all that extra money every month
-
I am working on making sure all of the toys are ready and available when I retire.
I figure if I work it right I can charge all the folks who saved and saved and saved and never bought any cool toys for themselves. I'll then save that money for retirement, which will be the very next day.

max's suggestion for plurals hookerS makes me nervous.
i'd rather have a single thousand-dollar hooker than ten hundred-dollar hookers.

Buy a little deep freeze and then convert it into a sweet beer kegerator. You could put in multiple taps. Really not that hard to do and would surely impress. A little TV would be sweet too. Do you have a killer surround sound receiver? Speakers?
-
you're supposed to close your eyes!! don't you know anything??!!
-
with you, i bet they do :laugh:ed egli avea del cul fatto trombetta -Dante

Way Cool! then you know that feeling I am talking about. it also makes spending that kind of money on something that will be such a splurge all that harder!!! enjoy getting what ever makes you smile
-
What do we have here a couple of Charlie Sheens??
-
you're one to talk!! don't make me pull out the pictures!!!
-
I'm with Fidel; toss it into your IRA account for 2011. Or, think of the neediest person you know: a college student, jobless friend, elderly relative, struggling parents, charity soup kitchen, etc. Give away half of the money and buy yourself something with the other half. Toys AND good karma, what fun.
-
I'd go with a second egg assuming you only have one. If not you can't go wrong with killer nest for one or both of your eggs.
-
I am glad to hear that you have all your bills paid off. With that said, save it for the future or put it towards paying off your mortgage early. More than 50% of Americans will have less than $50,000 in savings when they retire. Set yourself up for a pleasant retirement, and put the money away for a rainy day.
-
Whatever you buy, make you purchase before the ridiculous price increase goes into affect.
-
Tax return?? What's that?
On a lighter note....It's hard to believe America was founded to avoid high taxation.Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery -
If it were me, my would be on and xl egg......
