Haven't smoked in a month...
I decided to reward myself with some Hanger steak fajitas.
I read that that hangers should be done in 5-7 minutes per side around 400 F...
hmm..
I fired up the small the thermometer read 600 F. They were on for more than 5-7 minutes per side. The themapen read 110 F. So I pulled them leaving the the vents on the small open just in case.
I decided to put them on for a little longer as the steaks were still a little blue. I thought they tasted great but my guests shook their heads. This time the thermapen read 125 and I decided to pull them. I let them rest and they had much more pink.
Ready to go for fajitas...
And yes, they were great!

Look good Michael, I haven't egged in a while too, crazy busy at work. Not looking forward to the mid-week snow coming our way, how's your snowblower?
Garycanuckland -
I've used the snow blower once this year - NOT much snow but the temps have been cold. I'll be downtown at the MTCC - HRPA conference all week so I won't notice the snow until I come out of the MTCC on Friday afternoon.
When I said haven't smoked in 30 days I meant cigarettes! I haven't egged in a while either, but I think I made up for it tonight!

I say those are perfect Michael lool at all that juice

Thanks Beli...
Today was the first day in a while were I actually felt like shoveling the snow to the egg and the pool shed (aka the lump and wood storage unit).
It's been pretty cold up here. But, at least we don't have as much snow as they have in the NE US. Wow!

I'm currently going through withdrawls... it's been a solid month since I've egg'd
today is -33*C with the windcontext is important -
Withdrawls from smoking...
Withdrawls from egging...
We've had some temps close to -30 C over the last week (which is not that unusual) but I can't get over the lack of snow in Toronto this year.
It's like we don't get winter any more.

it tasted great...
Unfortunately my presentation skills are as ugly as the hanger steaks. Ha! ha!
I need to work on that.

Hi Steve:
I got them from the Butcher's Shoppe - that place we talked about a week or so ago.
They were a lot more expensive than I thought they would be ($6./lb) but I haven't seen them anywhere else. Every time I ask for them butchers give me a blank stare. Anyway, they had boxes and boxes of them. (10 lbs per box)
Michael -
They were very tasty!
Next time, I think I'll try them on a fresh baguette.
