When I load the Med., I will pull out the large pc. into a special bucket and save them for a very long cook on the lg. Other than that I'am just a dumper. :)

Well, I guess I lied (above). I DO sort. That piece would be sorted - OUT of the mini and into the large.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I have a plastic "Lowes Special" plastic bin large enough to hold 2 x 22 pound bags of Wicked Good. I dump two bags in, give the bin a good shake (seems to cause the large stuff to rise to the surface), and push the large stuff to one side.

When I'm working to start a new fire, especially for a long cook, I'll load up a medium sized cardboard box with the left over from the last cook (I keep it all in the bin to keep it drier), then new stuff, then a couple or three large pieces.

Take the box to the egg, pull the large pieces out and place them at the bottom of the empty fire box. Dump about 3/4 the rest in.

Paper towel and some EVOO or corn oil for a fire starter. Dump the rest of the box on top of that. Light the wick. Fire in 10 minutes, cooking in 30 - 40.

ETA - Oh, and yes, I'm an engineer so the OCD comes with the training.
