Has anybody else noticed that Publix's lump is different? I have noticed that the bag itself is slightly darker in color, and the lump is lumped more towards the bottom of the bag. I figured the bag would be full of small pieces because of this, but it wasn't. It actually has a lot of very large chunks and very few small pieces. Also the wood has a real glossy look to it.? The "new" lump smokes a good bit longer on the start up than it use to and the ash is really white after snuffing out the fire. I have to say that they are definitely using a new supplier.

Yes. I actually weighed the new bag and the old as I thought they were shorting the new bad. Nope. Both weighed in at 8.8#. Works great for me. Seems like the new stuff retains bigger chunks.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html

Since about a year ago our local wal-mart started caring RO I haven't had to use any greenwise lump. For a long time greenwise was all I used and it was my backup lump. I wonder what happened. Has the price changed it was $5.50 for 8.8 pounds. Tim

It's like $5.89ish. I quit going to Stuff-Mart or I'd still be using R.O.

WAY bigger chunks that's for sure!

D#%&@& Think they will trade the old bags for the NEW and larger size chunk bags.?? Still got 150+ lbs of the old stuff from a sale around $3.99 a year ago.

I have definitely noticed a big difference. Used to be like RO/BGE Lump but now it is more like Wicked Good. I've been using it a lot since we used up our pallet of WG. I am very happy with the new Greenwise stuff!

Definitely different and I think better, although the first bag of the new stuff almost went back. It sparked like the 4th of July when first lit and I had to shut the Egg down completely to put the flames out. Why I bought a second bag I don't know, but I'm glad I did. Stuff works great now.
