Depends on your set up. Whether they are standing or laying flat. Someone posted awhile back some ridiculous number. I usally get 5-6 with a rack.

I saw a pic on here of 20 plus.

With an adjustable rig and spider I did six laying flat ans rotating every half hour. Tim

the standing record is 21 racks on one grid, there is an option to add a second level :laugh:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

That bottom pic seems like the only method I would try to do that many. It seems pointless to cram so many in there that they cook differently and they get uneven smoke. If you want to cook more than 5 or 6 racks get another egg! (This is my logic so I can convince my wife to let me buy another large this summer.)

Good strategy dirtyburger, LOL

It got me my small!
wife "can you cook some chicken or something"
me "can't I got some butts on the egg"
wife

Me "If we get a small I could do low and slows AND grill or whatever at the same time. And I can get one for dirt cheap at an eggfest"
Wife "ok, but no more eggs after that one!"

Sure, you got her fooled. Have to larges, and trying to find a way to get a small, LOL!!

Tim, You can kid your wife and yourself but, you can't kid us here on the forum. You know you need another large. Tim

Actually I might join the medium Tims club. My brother in law (also a Tim) got a medium over Thanksgiving when I asked him to take me to look at some rubs at the local egg dealer (I walked out with no rubs, he walked out with a medium package). It came to temp really quick and I liked the way it cooked a lot. I might consider it. I would actually have room for it, and it is bigger than the small (duh) but still moveable. We will see.
I only want a large because mine was bought used, I just want the warranty on her, even though I know it has its limitations. -
Chef Wil from Lafayette, Louisiana did those a few years ago, long before the Adjustable Rig and other ideas came along. Look closely at the bottom of the photo and you can see his name.
I still have a container of that same rub he gave me. It's still good.
Pretty sure I'll never cook that many ribs at one time.

As a LBGE neophyte I got 8 racks(had to trim a little off the outside two racks)on my first cook. As a testament to just how good the egg is -they came out pretty darn tasty.
