defrosting a prime rib roast

I bought a prime rib roast awhile back when they were on sale and put it in the freezer. I plan on cooking it for Christmas Eve. It is 5.5lbs boneless. How long would it take to defrost in a 40 degree fridge? Is there a better way?
Thanks in advance.

My guess was to start tonight or tomorrow.

Mine has been defrosting since before thanksgiving.
Hahah
start now, if you think it can go bad, you have nothing to worry about. It can't. But it CAN age. Even just a little
it will be better if you start it now. Frankly, in my book, you are a few weeks to late. Wink wink
unless of course the wife is running the show over there.

Mrs Skihorn pretty much runs the show EXCEPT when it comes to Egging and or holiday meals. Refrigerator space is my limiting factor, especially since I've got a turkey and ham (for Christmas day) that will need defrosting.
