I was able to pick up some 00 flour to try. I used Zippylip's instructions. I have been using a breadmaker for the dough. This was done all by hand including the kneading. A mixer is on my Christmas list
Some pics
This is the flour I tried
All instructions should include a beer break after every step
Yeast ready
Formed and ready to rest
After the rest of a few hours at room temp
Dressed and ready for the Egg
Found this dough really easy to work with
Coming along nicely
Turned out pretty good, my wife was very happy with the crust.
She was making some cookies so I saved some to try in the Egg
These turned out really good although next time we would cut the sugar in this recipe by about half a cup. Way too sweet.
Thanks for looking
Shane

Thanks Randy -
Thanks Randy
I got the flour at a local italian deli -
That pizza looks really good. I have made pizza before with bread flour, does the pizza flour make a big difference?Dave San Jose, CA The Duke of Loney

Can you post the dough recipe? I have that flour and will try pizzas tonight!

Both pizza and cookies look very yummy. You will defnitely enjoy a stand mixer - it makes kneading dough a real joy (to watch )!!!

Nice looking pizza, and fantastic cookies. Mr. Holloway, could you persuade Mrs. Holloway to allow you to share the recipe for the cookies? I wanna build some of those molasses cookies. TIA, Uglydog

I think this is his first slideshow of version 1 of his technique:

Thanks Dave
There was a big difference in the way the dough handled. The hand streching was much easier.
For my next try it will be bread flour with the hand kneading

Kneading is more of a workout than it looks

Thanks Uglydog
Here is the link to the recipe we used

I found this really sweet. Next time we would use less sugar and skip rolling the dough in sugar.

Thanks for posting the link Loco

Do those come out soft or crispy? Wondering what would happen if I used splenda instead of sugar. I like the fact that the recipe calls for oil instead of butter.
-
Hey Gwen
They came out crispy on the Egg.
The 1 1/4 c of sugar was a lot.
