Last week I was pulling my Egg to give it a full burn and clean, well I hit a small pebble and it rolled forward and I had the handle in my hand and and it hit the ground. The inside still was already cracked and broken as normal, now it is time to replace everthing in the bottom. Luckly I have a mini and did it first ribs this week, ran just fine.

Whoa, man I'm sorry to see that. I generally only move my XL a couple of feet from my BBQ shed to cook, then wheel it back under the overhang when I'm not. Every so often it starts to roll or gets near the edge of the grass from the concrete slab, lord knows I wouldn't be able to stop it if it tumbled.
Good luck getting all the parts and having her back on her feet. -

that must have hurt...
sorry to see that dude.context is important -
Not your best day :ohmy:Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.
-
Man that hurts.
Sorry for your loss :( -
Very sorry to see that! In the relatively short time I have been on the forum, I think this is the 3rd such post I have seen (egg broken while moving it from storage to cooking area).
I think it is silly that BGE sells the nest (which comes with wheels on it!), and then the "nest handler" separately.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
I am getting one next week and will definately mount it in a table for just this reason. Murphy moved in with me so I need all the protection I can get.
-
That makes me sick to look at....sorry bro..
-
the nest works just fine if it is used right
this one does not have a top on it yet but that is not what happened it just was not on it yet at the egg fest.
You can not pull it by the handle.... or that is what happens ....
really really sorry about your egg :( -
I do see your point, but the egg handler adds a lot to the back of the egg in terms of something sticking out from the actual egg. I bought the egg handler from my dealer, but then decided not to install based on just wanted to leave my egg in a small area.
Now if I was moving it in and out of say a garage over a larger area I would have gotten it. I like the option of not having it to be honest. -
Sorry 'bout that Terry. Amazing the sound it makes....you don't hear that every day thankfully. Best of luck for a speedy replacement.
Have you seen the Egg Handler?? It provides a great way to pull and gives you the leverage to steady it. I've rolled it through some pretty unforgiving terrain at competitions. May be worth a gander?
Hopefully that's the end of your bad luck! Happy holidays mang!

After about 8 years draging this Egg and never a close call, I looked at the wheels later and saw one of them was a tad loose, causing the wheel to roll over and whamo. I may get a small until a local Egg fest then get a demo large, gives me a chance to inlarge the family!! Got my eye on Mesa, Az right now

that's one of the worst accidents i ever witnessed!....the horror!....rr

What a bummer, I'm sorry. My dog knocked over my mini (which was in a stand) and it met the same fate... We did paste humpty back together again with high temp furnace cement. I still works but it LOOKS broken! :( Poor lil' bugger!

you have to retighten the band. Just ask Egret! :pinch:

That is definitely a bummer! Sorry to see it.
