Mickey, I'm very sorry to hear about your pup. I know how you feel - I lost Charlie, my 13 year old Springer mix, about a year ago and I still miss the old girl!!

    Sorry to hear the loss.

I know what it's like to lose a pet. Been through it 3 times. Twice I had to put a pet down, one dog and one cat. I held both while the vet injected them. Their life was gone in seconds. While I cried, I knew it the best thing to do. I did it out of the love I had for them.

  • Sorry Mickey - That's tough and nothing anyone can say will make it any easier... It took me five years to get another dog after I lost my yellow lab of 14 yrs...though after getting my little one, I think she would have helped.

My wife told me about this post last night when I was at work and I couldn't go to bed this morning with out responding. Truly my heart goes out to you and your family. As a lot of the Forum knows I couldn't have young'uns. Funny thing is that the human being is going to cling and care for something. To me and my wife it is our animals. They are as much our "real" family as any child could be and though that may sound strange to people with "real" kids since we do not have any we do not know any better. Ignorance is blessed. Susie my old Lab died a year ago last weekend. Sort of opened up of an old cut when Thanksgiving came around till Auron walked out to her grave with me and started licking my cheek. The circle goes round Sir whether we like it or not for your old friend as it will for us someday. The older I get the more I TRY to enjoy every second of it. 14 years old is a long time for a dog and she didn't make it that long with out a lot of love, dedication and support. Says a lot about the Man who loved her IMHO. Ya done good. Hurts now but will comfort you in days to come and if you will let it one day when the time is right another little hellion will waddled in and pee right in the middle of the living room carpet! ;) Good speed Zoe.
