Despite the hot weather (80*), we celebrated our Thanksgiving by having my wife (Jana)'s family over for lunch. Jana and her daughter, Jill, ran in the Inaugural Turkey Trot 8k in the morning while I stayed home building a relationship with a 21# Mad Max turkey.
The turkey was a success (again):
We had Jana's mother & stepfather, sister & her family, Jana's two daughters, the three grandsons, and our Chinese/Mexican goddaugther, Joy.
This is Jana with the middle g'son, Emmett (4 months old).
Emmett 'motoring' around the living room.
Chinese "adopted daughter" Jane holding Emmett, god-daughter Joy, and oldest g'son, Aiden while the youngest g'son (Mason) sleeps in background.
Joy sneaking a big kiss from Aiden:
Great-grandma with Mason:
Does this look like a bundle of trouble, or what??
It was a fun-filled day, but the peace and quiet was welcomed when everyone left!
Thanks for looking .

having family/friends over is great. we do it a fair bit and I love it.
but that moment after the last person has left and the volume drops to zero is always somewhat surreal.context is important -
