Thermometer that comes with the BGE

It doesn't seem to be accurate or responsive. Is there one that anyone here would recommend as a replacement to the thermometer that came with the EGG?

Have you calibrated it?
If not, do a forum search which will tell you all you need to know on the subject. -
How do you calibrate the thermometer that come with the egg?

stick it in a pot of boiling water. it should read 212ish @ sea level. if not, adjust by turning little nut on back

Once. Then you throw it in the trash and put in your TelTru.

I own 5 eggs and have for over 10 years..if you calibrate them from time to time...and also when new I see no problem with them at all...it is also not an instant read thermometer..it rises and falls slowly...and only needs to be accurate in realistic cooking temps...
