For those that thought I may have been kidding (not that I have a history of such things), behold the evidence of my total lack of commitment to all things Egg......
This is how I've always done the Thanksgiving Day bird. The family prefers it this way, so this way it shall be. Like I said, so sue me.
Happy Turkey Day folks, and remember all that for which we should be thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and family, Rod. Joan still insists on doing the turkey in the oven.......that's the way she's always done it and that's the way it's gonna be!! Complete with stuffing! :woohoo:

I was saying to Kim that the one thing I miss with cooking the bird on the Egg was the awesome smell in the house. Happy Thanksgiving! -RP

I've already contacted a team of highly skilled lawyers. Their paper work is on it's way. I know they are highly skilled, because I use them to defend the 4 fried turkeys we just finished. Have a great holiday my brother, and send my love and blessings to the family.

In the bird stuffing? That is the best!
-
That's the way I do mine too, except at 325°, not 450°.__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious

If'n it ain't in the bird it's dressing. If you were a real Southerner you'd know that

Hey Todd...I need to know how you want your deer processed. I'm taking at least two out of the herd Sunday.
My personal rule is after Thanksgiving I start shooting does - if it's brown, it's down. -
I do it at 450 for the first 30 minutes, then bump it down to 325 until done. This gives the skin a head start without really heating the meat much and gets that skin nice and crispy and brown and delicious.

Solved your dilemma...one in the oven and one ready to go on The Egg! Everyone happy!!
-
We too are doing one in the oven....but there is a second one going on the egg and a egret ham going on the other egg. :P

That is a dang fangled fancy oven you got there! The one in my house is from the 70's or something! Haha!
Looks good! -
Nothing wrong with that IMO.
Happy Thanksgiving. Tell the Mrs. and your two beautiful girls that Mary Kate and I say hello. -
My people will call your people
Have a real nice Thanksgiving.
My wife has one in oven (turkey) and I will do one on the egg and E's Ham on the egg.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers. -
When you get finished with Todd's lawyers send them my way.I wish I had a big oven.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Blessed year. -
Funny, ever since I did my first turkey in the egg about 5-6 years ago, the family only wants it on the egg. Same for pizza and wings, no more oven, egg only.
-
It's all good. If you get sued, I will start a defense fund and we'll have you off the hook by the weekend.
Happy Thanksgiving to you - enjoy the things that you enjoy the most. -
Ok Ok, I know. When i was growing up, my grandmother made a large batch and stuufed the bird with some and baked some. so growing up, the debate was, "in the bird or out of the bird" stuffing (because i was on the in the bird side, it was stuffing)
-
Ya better not say that cause I know a Philly shyster that will. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
