Hello Everyone
We just finished dinner of a low and slow bone in butt I put on the small at 1AM this morning and pulled off around 4PM. I kept the temp as close to 225 as I could, it creeped up to 245* in the first hour or so but I closed the dampers’ slightly until it settled in on 225. I let the butt go to 200* and when the temp alarm went off the wife and I foiled then double towel wrapped and into small Playmate cooler. When I pulled it out 2 1/2 hours later I checked the temp and it was at 166*.We toasted some buns and the wife had made some potato salad and cole slaw. We put some warmed Blues Hog on and OMG was it good! Below are photos from start to finish. I am really looking forward to the Turduckhen tomorrow for the In-Laws and family!
Now done with the Grillin & time for Chillin!
The wife is already watching the Christmas movies :-0

Hi 61Chev
It is funny you say that. I tell my wife all the time that I enjoy the cooking as much as the eating and between you and me, sometimes I enjoy it more! I have had this old small BGE for almost 15 years now (as you can tell by the old handle and hinges in photos) and I go through stages of sometimes cooking on it 4-5 times a week to sometimes during summer only a couple times a month. It is nice, that it just sits outside in the weather and never rusts and falls apart like other grills I have had during my life. What a super idea of a cooking method. I still have lump left after that 15 hour cook! Life after family and work is all about Grillin & Chillin!BGE'er since 1996 Large BGE 1996, Small BGE 1996, Mini BGE 1997 -
If you looked up Pulled Pork Sammy in the Websters, that photo would it hit! Very nice looking meal!

And a nice butt it is indeed! I don't know why but I seldom do pulled pork in the summer. Mostly in the winter. Looks like its about that time!
