I know this might be OT but you nothing wrong with dessert after a tasty meal off the EGG. My question is this: What it the difference when using Ricotta or Farmer's
Cheese instead of the usual Cream Cheese ? Taste ? Texture ?
Any thoughts and advice appreciated.
Thanks.

I baked one using ricotta, and while I can't exactly 'splain (thanks, Ricky Arnez) the difference, it was verry good. Give it a go!

Why do they call it cheesecake when it is clearly a cheese pie?

Gary,
Ricotta is a curd like cottage cheese. It makes great cake if you mix it with marscapone and blend well.

If I remember my friend's X made a great cheesecake. It was a lighter one. I think she used Ricotta.
