45 & Raining -- A Good Night for Lamb

I would never have dreamed of going out to cook on a night like this, when I was using a gasser, and now it seems like the most natural thing in the world.
I roasted some new potatoes that had been coated with EVOO, S&P and dill.
I put a coffee rub on some lamb, shoulder steaks.
Then I added a salad and added some sauteed asparagus. Darn good even if the neighbors thought I was nuts.

Nothing nuts about you! It all looks great. I'm doing lamb over the weekend, think I'll try a coffee rub, sounds good.

Thanks for the comments folks!
The other post puts mine to shame (please check it out) -- especially the sear on the CI grill!

I think lamb shoulder steaks are underrated. Those look good and I know the coffee rub really made the dish. Well worth going outside in the freezing rain, huh?Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

When you consider the price difference, you really have to try lamb shoulder steaks. They are definitely not as tender, and you have to cut around the bones, but the flavor is excellent.
If you sear them and then braise them, they are really excellent!!
