On Friday afternoon I decided we would go to the mountains for the night. We got our special little cabin and had a relaxing evening in front of the fire. (after the kids got to sleep) Got home Saturday around 1:00pm, went to the basement to get some steaks and found the freezer door open. :( My wife didn't close the door all the way at some point on the Friday. Off to the dump I went with six garbage bags. Ouch
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike Bar.

If you have to ditch the freezer because of bad smells, you might think about a chest freezer as an open lid will not cause as much damage.

Been there, done that. I always use the key and lock the freezer door now.

Sorry to hear that. When will the divorce be finalized? :silly:

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Tilt the freezer back so the door automatically closes and buy a temperature alarm for about 20 bucks. Cheap insurance.
