Rod length for makeshift platesetter for medium

Hey eggheads,

I am going to have a new addition to the family tomorrow. I am picking up a medium on the way to the campsite. I called the dealer here in town and he doesn't have anything for a medium. I would like to know how long I should make the rods to go under the fire ring for a heat deflector like a platesetter. Thanks

I do believe it is 2.5 inches. You can be flexable though. If you want to raise the grid a bit.
